Loneliness Virus

In late 2019, I arrived in China with plans to explore and document the social transformations resulting from the country's rapid economic growth. However, the sudden and unprecedented outbreak of Covid-19 completely altered the course of things, forcing the Chinese to shelter in their homes and restrict their activities outside.

n a country with such a distinct culture and society from the Western world, I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the behind-the-scenes of the changes this society underwent during the pandemic.

I was there when the streets were barricaded, when vaccines were administered, and I was able to document the highs and lows as the Chinese attempted to regain normalcy in their lives, only to be confined once again. Through the lens of my camera, I was able to capture crucial moments that attest to my role as an observer in this story.
